a still shot taken from some footage at the core jam…
After a long week of riding obstacles at woodmans point in WA fot the Core Jam, its just come to an end. It was an awesome eight days of solid wind, loads of kiting time with everyone involved. The results can be seen on the official core website at: www.coreonlinemagazine.com
Unfortunately I broke my finger on the 2nd day of the event, eliminating my chances to place in the top 6 riders for the overall result. This was a real bad thing for me as i had flown out for the event and i was really looking forward to some solid rail time. Not to menation the 3 days in hospital and 2 hour operation!
Here is a riding shot from my first day warm up…video coming soon!
Hitting Auz with a bang for the CORE rail jam, it has been a good few days, arriving in Auz and sorting out a car and accommodation. I have been riding for the first few days in a few different spots, getting used to the area and warming up after a cold month in the UK.
The CORE jam stared a few days ago and we have been busy setting up the rails and riding a bit, warming up for the contest at the end of the week. Unfortunately I broke my finger on day 2 of the warm up sessions for the contest, eliminating my chances of competing. This is a bit of a setback for me, but it should only keep me out of the water for about four weeks and i will be back on form for the BVI kite jam on Necker island in march.
Wow, so as good as this winter has been, it just got better. Yesterday it snowed about 10 inches on the hills near my house, so I headed up for a bit of snow kite action. Amazing to be surfing one day and then snowboarding the next!
Booked Auz tickets yesterday too, 18th on the way the Perth for the Core Jam followed by the KTA Boracay event and then the BVI kite Jam on Neker island…Going to be a good start to the season!
Right, so I have just come rounds after far too long on the festive band wagon following Christmas. Back to making plans for the coming season in 2010, what a good year its going to be!
Im still here in the UK, waiting to get on a plane to Australia to meet the UK crew out there and ride in the CORE rail jam at Woodmans point, Perth. The winter in the UK has been surprisingly good, dishing out some solid swells and a few kite sessions, so it hasnt been all bad, but never the less I am ready to move onto the next trip.
After Auz, North are sending me to the Philippines for the KTA Boracay event, that should be good to see whats happening on their emerging tour and the level of riding from the local riders.
I will post next from the airport as I head to AUZ…later…
So, Iv been back on the IOW now for a week or so, seeing y family and getting some things together for 2010. The weather has been pretty bad apparently in the UK for most of winter so far, however, the day I arrived we had some of the biggest swell hit I have seen in years. My local surf break was topping out at about 3 times over head. I have been getting some epic waves in the last few days…check out the closeout shot!
My vague plan for the next few weeks is to ride here in the UK, practice some of my tricks in the cold to make sure I have them solid and then think about heading to Australia at the begging of Jan. Will keep you posted of what goes down in the UK…
Hey Guys,
Just a heads up, I have just uploaded a new video from my Brazil trip last month. All shot by Susi Mai with some help from Jereme Tronet too :) it is just a short compilation of some riding on the lagoons near Cumbuco. Check it out:

So after over a month in Brazil, we decided to head down wind to the town of Jericoacoara. What and awesome place, the whole town is totally sand, there are no roads and only sand track through the whole place, feels a bit like the end of the world. The wind there is good too, powered on a 7m every day, great for some mega loops and huge air!
With us we had the whole MAITAI kite camp crew, organized by kite adventures Brazil. This was awesome as we did some huge down winders every day. With the arrival of a new swell here it has been good for some strapless action too!
I will be heading back to the UK next week with Susi, where we shall make our plans for a winter escape to Australia to hit the CORE rail jam…looking forward to it!
So the last few weeks have been busy, full of down winders. I think i have done at least 150miles downwind in a few days, seeing tones of the Brazilian coastline whilst i did it. It has been great fun. This was all part of the two kite camps that we had organized with ‘kite adventures’ (www.kiteadventures.com), the people that came to join us have been having an awesome trip, with hours of kiting every day and a fleet of buggies following us down the coast with supplies. Definitely a very unique was to see Brazil and I would recommend considering it for next year!
Shortly the MaiTai camp will come to and end and Susi and I are going to head back to Cumbuco for a few weeks to shoots and ride…I will be putting some effort into finishing my latest web movie with some new tricks thrown in! I will post again when its online!

The last few days have been awesome here in Brazil, I have been riding alot and shooting in the Cumbuco lagoon with Susi, Jeremy Tronet and Lyn Svensen, It has been a super productive few days. We are putting together a travel story from Brazil, so it should be interesting to see what we get. Also i have been shooting some video that i will put out shortly!
Unfortunately I didn’t enter the KPWT here in Brazil, i didn’t want it to get in the way of shooting and it wouldn’t have done anything for my overall world ranking in 2009. So now i have to put my hopes into 2010 to claim a world title.
It has been a hard year this year with so many PKRA world events being canceled…i have a feeling it will get better next year!!
mean while expect to see more shots like this one coming out near you!
cheers
tom

After only a few days here in Brazil, i entered the ‘kite show’ contest here in Cumbuco. It was a fun event run with a relaxed format that worked well. After competing for three day in various disciplines I came away with a 2nd place best trick.
Tomorrow there is the registration for the KPWT world tour stop also here in Cumbuco, I think I can get a good result in the freestyle, but im not sure if I will enter or not.
After a long period in the UK it is great to get away, escaping the begging of winter to come here to Brazil. I flew here with Susi, and when we arrived into Fortaleza after 20 hours of traveling, straight into a buggy and off to Cumbuco for a session in the lagoon at sunset.
The first few days have been pretty busy, with the new ‘Kite Show’ contest hosted by kite forum.com, in Cumbuco town that I entered, it has been a fun few days! I am still deciding whether or not to enter the KPWT world event next week, but I will post again regarding that soon.
Our plans for the next few weeks include our kite camps in Paracuru, followed by an epic down winder to Jericoacoara. For info check: www.kiteadventures.com. After that we might hit the ’ Tremembe Kite Mansion’ south of Fortaleza with Sam and Niko.
i will keep you posted, here is a shot from the Cumbuco Lagoon…
Well, after a good length of time to get over the effects of the German beer, everything is back on track. Just booked my tickets to Brazil in order to hit up the Susi Mai/Tom Court MaiTai kite camp that we are putting on…should be fun. Don’t forget to check out the website at:http://www.kiteadventures.com/services/camps/procamps.html.
The IOW has been fun for the last few weeks, hitting up some pit bike racing with my mate Stu who helped out at white air last month. Unfortunatley i got my video cam stolen at White air, so i havnt been able to cut any new vids, should be coming soon though when i get another one! in the mean time, check out this video from FatSands:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xeHctyQu40
Next stop Brazil!
After a sick ten days in Germany, a short visit to the North HQ, i am now back at home in the UK. Got my ticket to Brazil on the 26th of October, so i have a few weeks to get fit for that. Here is a shot from the river wave in the middle of Munich City. Great fun!
Well after a long week at the Oktoberfest in Munich in the beer tents it was nice to get some time to hit the Cable park there. I went with Susi and my friend Dan flew out from the UK, it was a good laff, we also hit some good skate spots around the city. Looking forward now to getting back to the coast and some kiting, although i am going to hit the famous Munich river wave tomorrow for a bit of surfing!
So, last week was super hectic, organizing the slider jam at White Air in Brighton along with Chris Burke. We had Ruben Lenten flying in for it along with Davey Blair from Hawaii and it was an awesome festival. Unfortunately there was no wind, so we held a contest hitting the Kiteworld feature behind Jet skis…In the end I got 2nd to Sam Light. Two podiums in as many weeks!
After that had finished i made my way to Munich to hit the Oktoberfest for a few big Germany beers. Great to see some friends there that i hadn’t seen in ages!
After hauling all the stuff to Brighton in Sew’s Van, we’re now busy putting everything together and giving it the last coat of paint ! lookin good so far for the WhiteAir/Kiteworld Slider Jam!
So after an awesome weekend down on Poole Sandbanks at the Animal Windfest i came back with a good result. After almost five years without wind, the Windfest finaly got some, although light, it was enough to hold a good race series and a freestyle contest. As well as the wind the party’s went off with a Turbo Neon Fluro night on the Saturday that was awesome, with some great bands playing. check out the Animal Windfest website: www.animalwindfest.co.uk
So, iv been back in the UK now for about three weeks and it has been busy! After a heavy weekend last week up in Blackpool to see everyone at the BKSA event, i have been down to Poole, Sandbanks to film with the BBC for a ‘sports round’ special about the up and coming Animal Windfest event that is running from the 11th-13th September. Should be a funny video, so dont forget to watch on Friday (11th) morning BBC1.
Also Chris Burke and me have been planning things for the WhiteAir event that is hosted down on Brighton seafront on the weekend starting the 18th. Sponsored by Kiteworld mag, it should be a good event! check it out:http://www.kiteworldmag.com/news/tom-court-confirmed-for-kiteworldwhite-air-slider-jam/
Also here is a little teaser video from the Fuerteventura trip last month:http://www.vimeo.com/6359634

So iv been out if Fuerte for a while after the PKRA has finished, alot has happened too. After my arm has healed from the 8 stiches i got from my first rail session on the North shore, i have been doing some night shoots. It has been alot of effort setting up the rails with generators and lights at night, but i think it was worth it. Here is a little shot of the set-up from one rail session!
After over a months on Fuerteventura, Susi and me are heading back to the UK tomorrow, it will be good to get some time at home. The wind and waves are looking good there too! lata t
So after the PKRA had finished I headed up to the North of Fuerte with Susi Mai, Sam Light, Chris Burke and fellow Animal team rider Jo Ciastula for the rail project the i have wanted to do for a while now. It was a bit of a mission to get it all together and built in a week, but we managed it and have had a few solid day of riding in the last week. Some great shots about to come out from the trip too, so keep your eyes peeled in the mags :)
Unfortunately i had a big stack and got 8 stitches in my elbow so i have been off the water for a few days..dohh. Here is a video i edited with my down time.

cheers t
right, after the freestyle contest in the south of fuerte at the PKRA i got a 13th overall, so i was pretty annoyed. The gusty 40 knot wind made it super difficult to compete, but the kite loop second discipline made up for it and i got a 2nd podium Finnish. So i was pretty stoked, on the podium with Aaron and Kevin. Here is a podium shot.
Heading up to the North of the island now to start work on a slider project with Sam Light, Chris Burke, Susi and Jo Ciastula from Animal. Shots and an article will be coming out soon. keep it posted. t
So i have just come in after my last heat, unfortunately i lost to the current KPWT leader Peter Tyuskavich from Russia leaving me with a 13th in the world freestyle discipline. Not really what i had hoped for, but it was good fun just to ride with everyone again after a long off season away from contests. Here is a shot of some in heat action just 10mins ago :)
